Murky in the river section due to influx of water from the Pongola River after the recent good rains received.

Fishing Area:
The bay on the right as you pass where the Fish Eagle Safari Boat is moored, Pump Station, the bay as you pass the KZN Wildlife campsites towards the border, Elephant Bay in 3- 5m of water and towards the mountain near the trees in the water. Elephant Bay continues to be the most popular fishing spot. The mouth of the dam where the clean and dirty water meet was also a good fishing spot.

Average Size:
Tiger Fish caught during the month ranged from 1kg 3.2kg.

Biggest Fish:
The largest one of 3.2kg was caught on sardine. Chicken livers, chicken hearts and live bait also worked well.

Other Conditions:
The Dam level has increased by 9.37% since last month due to the good rains received in the catchment and on the reserve. We are grateful for this and we hope that the level will continue to rise before the winter season arrives. The main jetties have been moved upriver and are once again just below Nkwazi Lake Lodge and Mpalane, making access much more convenient. The Mvubu jetties have also been moved a bit closer to the railway bridge.
