Fishing Area:
From Mpalane Bay, in front of Nkwazi Lake Lodge, Pump Station, the bay as you pass the KZN Wildlife campsites, Elephant Bay in 3- 6m of water and towards the mountain near the trees in the water. Just be careful of tree stumps in the water.

Average Size:
Tiger Fish caught during the month ranged from 1kg 5.7kg.

Biggest Fish:
The largest one of 5.7kg was caught on fly off one of our boats. A number of good fish were caught during this month, proving a great month!

Other Conditions:
The Dam level has once again decreased slightly.

Total Tiger Fish:
An average of 387 Tiger Fish were caught off the Pongola Game Reserve boats. Fly fisherman did very well this month catching 721 Tiger Fish. Spoons, Rapalas, Spinners and other artificial bait were the most successful methods used. Live bait, sardines and chicken livers also produced some good catches.

Barbel:
Plenty Barbel were also caught while fishing for Tiger Fish, using sardines and chicken hearts.

Bait of the Month:
Trolling with silver and orange Rapalas proved the most successful.
